Icarus
Icarus
In Greek mythology, the story of Icarus serves as both a moral and spiritual parable - warning against arrogance and ego while illuminating the soul’s yearning for transcendence.
Icarus’s father Daedalus made wings from feathers and wax enabling Icarus to fly. Ignoring his fathers warning ‘not to fly too close to the sun’ he flew up to the sun which melted the wax and Icarus plummeted back to earth. This speaks to human desire to raise beyond limitations, yet also reminds us of the need for humility, balance and respect for the laws of nature.
