Portraiture commissions

Portraiture painting captures the character and inner sole of the sitter.

Payne creative process:

I personally create the portrait art work from a combination of life sittings and photographic sittings with you, or other arrangements as agreed.

Each project is different as the sitter and I work together in a collaborative, mutually convenient way.

Portraits can be in oil, pastel or drawings.

Overall project process:

1: Discussion and ideas around your project, 2: Agreement of details, size of art work, creative scope, general composition, time frames, etc, 3: Contract signed detailing the project. 4: 25% non-refundable deposit, balance due on completion. 5: Possibly some sittings along the way. 6: Your final approval. 7: Delivery. 8: For oil paintings varnish to seal the work approx 6-12 months after delivery.

Factors influencing the fee include; meduim, size of art work, backgrounds, complexity, level of detail, additional figures & objects, artists travel time if applicable, etc.

Framing:

I don’t offer a framing service but of course I’m happy to discuss options and ideas with you, and liaise with your framer if you need some help there.
